Books

I am a lover of books that help me grow or that teach me things.  As soon as I was on this journey there were some books that I discovered and that have remained to be of great help and great resources when I need to revisit or research something I hadn't thought of before.

Outside the Box by Dr. Mark Stengler & Dr. Paul Anderson

This book was loaned to me by Eric at IVNV on  my first IV appointment and it didn't take long for me to decide I needed to buy it.  If I remember correctly, Dr. Paul Anderson is a mentor of my ND, Dr. Cochran.  Dr. Cochran is the medical director for IVNV and I was happy to have him on my team as my naturopath. This book explains many treatments from conventional to holistic and was a perfect first read for me to give me some basic understanding as I was talking to my oncologist for the first times.  I sometimes still refer back to it in order to remember why I am doing some of the things I am doing.

Chris Beat Cancer by Chris Wark

I don't remember who introduced me to Ben from the local chapter of Healing Strong, which is a Chris Wark program.  Ben healed naturally from cancer 7 years prior to me meeting him and as a way to pay it forward he has lead the local chapter of Healing Strong.  He was so kind to meet with Dan and I and talk with us for multiple hours and was a great resource for us.  He spoke quite highly of Chris Wark of Chris Beat Cancer as that was part of his healing protocol.  So I did a little looking online and bought his book and found it helpful.

Square One by Chris Wark

Another program Chris Wark has is Square One, which he makes available for free for 30 days about one or two times per year.  I took advantage of the free month and decided to jump in and buy the program, which was half off.  The program comes with this book, a 10 module set on DVD, and a membership to the Square One FB group which is a wealth of resources and encouragement for anyone wanting to heal naturally, or combine natural healing with conventional healing of cancer.

Beat Cancer Daily by Chris Wark

Chris Wark's devotional book has been an encouragement on days that I needed it.
This is a great little book.

I Used to Have Cancer by James Templeton

A friend pointed me to this book and I found his story encouraging and helpful.  The things he did aligns quite a lot with Chris Wark, though each person/book has a little bit that is different from the other.

Radical Remission by Kelly A. Turner, Ph. D

This book is recommended by Chris Wark and I just started reading it (Oct. 2025) and am finding it quite interesting and encouraging.  It's a compilation of healing stories and so it works for me to pick it up in between other books I am reading to read a story here and there.

Secrets of a Prayer Warrior by Derek Prince

Derek Prince is one of my all time favorites and this book is a great help and encouragement for the spiritual side of life and healing.

This Day we Fight by Francis Frangipane

This is a book I picked up a couple of years ago and have decided to pick it up again and I read through it a little bit at a time and find encouragement.

The Christian in Complete Armour by William Gurnall

This book is part 1 to 3 books.  I discovered this series maybe two years ago and I am finding myself taking time to go through it.  The fun thing is that it was written back in the 1500's by William Gurnall in a village we visited while living in England, so it feels slightly personal.  His writing is very deep and not a light read at all.  I have most pages highlighted and tabbed. I highly recommend this if you want to go deep with the things of the Lord, particularly spiritual warfare.

God's Word Heals by Derek Prince

Another Derek Prince book that I adore so much!  I read this book before my diagnosis, and then again a year ago and took it slow, really applying what he was saying in each chapter to my situation and to my heart and experienced some serious conviction in how I was relating to the Lord.  I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone who has an interest in what the Bible says about healing.

Divine Healing by Andrew Murray

Andrew Murray is a favorite author from the past.  When I discovered he had written on healing I got the book right away.  It did not disappoint.  For me, the big take away is the the importance of taking care of our "Temple."  It houses our spirit, our soul, but most importantly the Holy Spirit within us.  I have taken my body for granted most of my life and what Murray wrote about it has convicted me and inspired me to do better.

This is a "living" list of books that I appreciate and that make a difference in my life, aside from the most obvious book, the Bible. I hope you enjoy checking some of these out and if you do, please let me know what you read and what you liked or maybe didn't care for.  I would love the discussion.
